GNO Friday night!

Okay ladies it looks like Friday night works best for most of us. Thanks to all of you who offered up your homes but we can go ahead and just meet up at my house.

Details:
Place: My house 4903 Bear Wood (next door to Collette's)
Time: 8ish
Refreshments: Banana Splits (provided by Lyssa) and anything else you might want to bring to share
Entertainment: Games, chatting and/or chick flick. If any of you have a good old chick flick, please share. We are not sure if we will end up watching a movie but we wanted to keep the option open.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. And if you can let me or Lyssa know if you are planning on coming just to help plan for the banana splits.

See you all tomorrow night!!

Short Notice

Lyssa and I were talking about wanting to have one last girls night before some of our beloved girls move on with their lives outside of San Antonio. The month of May is quickly approaching and we know that with school winding down and summer break is on its way, we wanted to try and get together this week (yeah I know last minute). Now is the tricky part....deciding what night to do it. We could do either Thursday night or Friday night and we were thinking of just getting together at someones house and making banana splits and playing games and/or watching a chick flick!

I can host it at my house on Friday night, but if Thursday works better for those of you who can make it, then will someone else be willing to offer up their home? Either way we were thinking of getting together around 8sih. Let me know what you all think and if you are interested.

11th Branch Girls Camp fundraiser

Hey everyone! You might have had a flyer on your car windshield yesterday after church for the 11th Branch Girls Camp fundraiser. If you did not, this coming Saturday (25th) from 8am-2pm at the Huebner building they are having a "Rumage, Food & Bakery Sale" to raise money for Girls Camp. The flyer said there will be clothes, tacos, tamales, pozole, aguas frescas and cupcakes. For those of you who might not know, each young woman has to pay quite a bit of money for camp this year and 11th Branch has a large group of YW trying to go. So any help they can get, is GREATLY appreciated! I know I plan on stopping by to get some tamales! Hope to run into you there too!
(I posted a picture of the Sombrero Galaxy...which is their branch 'theme' for camp this year)

Help!

I am in need of ideas of how to entertain/contain my 16 month old in church! He wants to be everywhere and I worry he is disruptive to others. What games/toys/books/ideas do any of you have?

Fiesta!

Can someone please tell me what "Fiesta Texas" is?? I'm hearing about it all over the place. Is it just a place with too many people and too many drinks or is there anything family friendly to do?

Sandfest 2009

One of our most favorite things to do every year is to go to Port Aransas on the coast and see SandFest. It is happening again this weekend: April 17-19th! It is FREE, there are GREAT sand sculptures, music, food, and of course the beach! You can check out: www.texassandfest.com for more information. We have gone for the past several years and love it, not to mention that Port Aransas is one of our favorite places!

Appliance Repair

Just wanted to throw this out. The first repair I had done in SA was way too expensive and poor quality. Since then I have asked around and would absolutely recommend A-1 Reliable. The number is 366-3800. I haven't called them for a few months, but they only charge a $40 service call no matter how long it takes.

FREE Twin mattress

Hey everyone we have a twin mattress and box spring that we would like to get rid of if anyone wants it or knows of somebody who wants it. I am being completly honest, they are old, the box spring is the oldest of the two. I would like them to get some good use out of them and I'd hate to think that we would have to throw them away. Well give me a call if you want them 210-561-7961

Sewing Machine

Last night I was over at Hancock fabric, next to Hobby Lobby on Bandera, and they had a huge sign advertising a sale on sewing machines on Saturday the 4th. They were singer brand, still in the boxes, and going to be sold for $100. I know awhile back people were talking about sewing machines....so I thought I'd pass that along. :)
