OBGYN

I'm more just curious for everyone's sake who ya'll have had for an OBGYN and if you've liked them. I know there will be another sweep of pregnancies sooner or later so I think this will help everyone know the options out there.

I have had 2 doctors here with my two girls, Dr. David Dooley & Dr. Michelle Cerny (pronounced churney) Anyways, I had Dooley with Emma, which looking back, I wish I would have stayed with him for my 2nd because he was fast, his office was fast and that's what I was looking for especially my 2nd one. But at the time with Emma, I would have wanted someone like Dr. Cerny because she was friendly and easy to talk to. Yet the appointments took forever because her office took forever! So there are some things to consider!

GNO!!

There are some of us girls who are desperate for a night out and so we have decided on this Thursday night. We are planning on meeting at the dollar theater to watch Twilight for the 8:20pm showing. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come. Please pass this message along! Also if you could just give me a little heads up if you want to go so that way we can watch out for everyone. I think we will just plan on meeting outside the theater a little before 8:20. I think this would be a good thing to try and do once a month or every other month any thoughts?

Flushable Wipes

I am posting this because there are a gazillion 2 year olds around here and most of you will be coming to that point of the dreaded potty training...which that's a whole other story and I will spare details and my opinions.
I just wanted to tell you about the wonderful thing called "flushable wipes" These are essential in training! THey make clean up a breeze for your little one! THere are various brands out there but I succumbed to Kando Wipes because they were flashy and fun for Emma to use. I also like that they smell good. They have matching foam soap that is bright green and doesn't dry out your little one's hands because they'll be washing their hands like 20 times a day....they can get severely dry from all that!
YET...
I hate buying Kando wipes because they can get pricey, especially how many you or they use. But luckily, I stumbled upon a hidden treasure at CVS. They sell flushable wipes exactly like Kando...same size, same smell, same texture but $1.50 cheaper! I was so excited, I totally stocked up on them! So there's my post....
CVS flushable wipes = Kando wipes
CVS flushable wipes = cheaper
cheaper = more money for other things...we still can't afford...:)

Free Quiznos Sub and More

I realize that my free food posts have nothing to do with playgroup, so if you want me to stop posting these I will :).

Quiznos is giving out one million free subs. Go here to sign up and get a coupon for a free small signature sub or free small every day value sub. The coupon expires five days after printing.

Also, if you sign up at Texas Road House you can get a coupon for a free appetizer with purchase of two entrees. We went there for my birthday and the appetizer is a meal in itself.

**I have an email account just for purposes like these, where I have to enter an email but I don't want the company's emails in my every -day in box.

Hope this helps somebody!

Fun things to do

In case you haven't already heard, there is going to be a "World's Greatest Hobby Tour" at the convention center this weekend. If your kids are into trains this might be for you. There will even be free rides on Thomas the Train. Kids under 16 are free and adults are $10. Of course since it is downtown you'll have to pay for parking too.
Also, I met a lady at the park today who told me about open admission at artworks studio. On Monday's from 10 - noon and on Thursdays from 3-7 you can take your kids for just $5. They must be at least 2 and you can take snacks for them. I really want to try this out because I would much rather have Micaela do art anywhere else but in the house. If anyone would be interested in coming with us just let me know and we can plan something. She also told me about a farm on Culebra and 1604 but I can't remember the name. It sounded like a lot of fun though so I'll get more info when I talk to her again.

p.s. I have a ton of hangers for baby/toddler clothing. Does anybody need some?

shoes

I need help with shoes. Hugh has only been walking about 3 weeks and is still trying to perfect the art. I need to get him some new shoes b/c he is outgrowing the ones he has. But I think he still needs the softer sole. Plus, he has chubby feet. Where do you guys find good shoes for kids? Any recommendations?

FUn around here..

Other than our crazy fun times at Playgroup, what other things do you guys do during the day with your kids. Have you found any fun things to do around town? Is there a great new park? I would love to hear what everyone does through out the week to pass the time, since it's now getting warmer outside and the kids are getting antsy!

DOLLAR DEALS!

With the economic crisis in full swing, and my kids using up toothpaste and flushable wipes like crazy, I have resorted to run to the dollar store for some re-stocking items that won't break our tighter budget. Here is what I have found:

Matthew and Olivia either lose or outgrow their socks quick! Luckily, the dollarstore has some nice socks for kids! they come 3 to a pack! and they are WAY comfy! I prefer them better than any other socks I have gotten at the GAP or OLD NAVY!

Kids toothpaste and toothbrush! they have a spongebob toothbrush and crest toothpaste combo!

Squidsoap! this is GREAT for preschoolers! it marks your hand when you push the pump down and it comes off after you wash your hands long enough to be considered sanitary! This is what has taught Matthew to wash his hands! this is a dollar deal to stock up on! the soap usually runs for about 3 to 4 bucks at Target or Walmart but they must be changing the box or something because they are at the dollar store! So, I bought 5! and should be all I need for a for 6 months!

And there you have it! They also have some Sesame Street baby wipes that are to thin for baby's bum but perfect to have in your bag for drool, boogers or wet wipes for potty! So, go and stock up! they are regular brands, and it saves you a trip to Costco where you kind of have to spend some $$ to get some basic necessities!

Playgroup 2/4/09

Playgroup tomorrow is at LYssa Zimmerman's house from 9:30 to noon. Snacks will be there! COme and play! Hope you can make it!
I'm not going to post my address on the blog but you should have received an email :)

Some rules...

I hate to be a stickler but I wanted to throw down some ground rules for this blog :)

First, If you write up a post, let's label them so others who want to look up something specific can find it quickly. I've already started labeling the posts. Some might fall under the same category like "organization" because that's a big thing. So if you can remember to label them, that would help!
Please feel free to post anything you'd like but only if it passes the "Articles of Faith #13" test :)

K those are the only ones I have so far...but if more come, i'll throw them out.

Mechanic

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, trustworthy mechanic/auto shop in the area?

Help!

Kids grow out of clothes so fast. So here's my question... What do you do with them? How do you organize them? Right now I have Kyle's clothes packed into his old Huggies Costco size boxes. I used to label them by months but now I just throw them in and tape it up when it gets full because I'm lazy. haha. Let me hear your ideas!
